Are you interested to create something like a library for most common materials?
I’d like to continue my tests with more shaders.
There are a lot of materials in blendswap but there are not fitting well together. I’d like to have something consistent that can really be reused and optimized to avoid too much noise (ray switch/light path node)
I have already :
– car paint
What could we do next?
– procedural cloud (working on it)
– procedural eyes
– all kind of metals
– snow on surface
– semi translucent material like jelly, maple syrup
– leather shoes
Is it a good ideas or do you find it useless?
Yeah, this is quite slow with volumetric underwater and blurry refraction, even with Cuda. Next time I’ll use my work’s compute at night!
But I would like to find the right way to show the shaders, like the link Quentin shows with everything in sphere. That’s pretty nice. Any ideas? I like animations/motions because it shows well how light works with. I thought to render it as cubes in a GIF that loop 😀
