I open a post about the game prototype I’m working on. I had the idea of doing it some months ago to try the Blender Game Engine out and Python. I’m now a bit more comfortable using it and try to gather all the tests I did into a “real” game.
It’s also a call for participation. Doing it alone is fun but too much for me, especially when I know nothing about it 😀
Any help is welcome If you want to show and improve your animation or modelling skills, glsl 2d filters, python classes that can be useful or just ideas. Feel free to
The first video is to show the very very beginning of the character moves in a 2D space
Guard is now implemented for stand and crouch position. Normal moves can not be cancelled anymore by other normal moves.
I’m now working on an addon to create for each action a list of active hitboxes frames. I don’t know what format is the best to store information. Ini or XML file. Maybe something else? Ini file is probably the easier one to use with python and the BGE but I’d like to hide value of the file. Is it a possibility to encrypt it but read it anyway? @collignon_david
I finally choose to use JSON to store frame data. The active frames of the hitboxes are now implemented and seems to work quite fast finally after some big performance issue on Windows.
I don’t know yet what to do next. Try to make a grab system and hit that put the opponent on the ground or maybe work on more graphical stuff like better sprite for hit/guard/jump. Or something else?
