I’ve just discovered that we can use the Qt framework in Blender. No trick, just import PyQt or PySide and use it.
I made a quick example:
It opens to many new things : custom panel for… anything! : asset/material manager, alternative node system, image viewer that can send stuff to the compositor, video player ( 😉 ), share applications between graphical application such as Maya and Nuke, etc!
