- Belgian Blender User group @ La semaine numérique & Digitale Week
I’ve just signed the Bbug for the 2015 event ‘La semaine numérique‘ which will be held from Monday the 20th of April 2015 till Sunday the 30th of April 2015.
I will be a good opportunity to do a nice presentation / training about 3D software, Blender, Open Source / FLOSS and even the life of our club.
I believe we can either do it freely or ask up to 3.00 € per participant.
Free is always good but it might be a good way to earn some funds for other (new) activities.
What do you think is best ?
Is een Nederlands lid zou bereid zijn om een presentatie in het Nederlands te maken?
Indien deze plaatsvindt in Brussel, hebben we al lokale en projector.
Het Nederlandse equivalent is
@nick_van_den_broeck misschien ? :-”

Absolute freedom : do what you want. 🙂 I don’t think there is any limitation from the organizer (except that it should be done in French).
Seriously, any initiative is good enough if it promote FLOSS, Blender, educate the next generation and help the Blender community to grow in a centralized way.
From my experience, because it can be quite long it’s best to be two or three, have something to say to peoples coming and some videos looping in the background. During the botkamp’s opening it was mostly answering curious peoples who don’t know anything about 3D.
But a course could also be good. Why not ?
Quick overview of modeling, UV unwrapping for game assets and 3D sculpting are the usual suspects.
Tnx for the correction, I’ll updated the original post.

Does this mean that if I want to do something in Dutch, I should enrole in the dutch part seperatly?
Yes I’m afraid we’re gazing at the usual ‘Let’s do the same things twice for no reason and just forgot about the German community’ all over again… Belgium, I love you but sometime… :O
As long as I’m kept informed before, I have no problem with Dutch speaking members of the Bbug speaking on its behalf in any city including Brussels. In fact, I welcome them to do things to bridge the gap between communities. And if I can be of any help with my poor Dutch, I’ll gladly do it.
We still have a lot of time to discuss the detail, but it’s safe to assume that la semaine numérique get subsidies from la fédération Wallonie Bruxelles and its flemish counterpart digitaleweek from the Vlaamse Gemeentschap. But It would be awesome if we did both in their own language, no ? I personally think so 😀

Since I havn’t received any comments from other dutch BBUG members willing to help, I think I will have to do it on my own. But in that case, I don’t really like the ride to Brussels. Furthermore, I think that Antwerp would be more in the center of the Flemisch part (and nicer for me). Is that ok?
I’ll try to ask everybody again in a mailing list ASAP just to be sure 😀
Of course Antwerp is ok, I might even come to help if you want and the day isn’t the same as LSN.
I remember that @noels did a presentation in French in Mons I believe, maybe you can ask him what he did ?
Ahaha no financing, of course. But some advertising at least.
Maybe you could look at the activities last year to find some sort of cluster ; a place where you’ll find easily a room to hold your activity because there are others already planned on the same spot ?

Hold your horses.
I’ll meet you in real life in two weeks. With my interim work I cannot plan so long in advance.
I am allways interested in learning by being a sidekick.
I am still looking for a sidekick for a Blender presentation in Tisselt for the HCC.
Tonight there is a lecture on photography.
