Here, you can subscribe to the next Bbug event about the Blender Game Engine & Python.
You may not know it, as it’s not its most renowned feature, but Blender do have a real time game engine with both logic bricks and python scripting.
On the menu :
We’ll see how Blender hold (or not) his ground against other real time game engines.
Benoit will answer your questions about anything related to python, coding and the game engine.
If you have any question and/or suggestion, don’t hesitate to ask.
This workshop will be held by Benoit Bolsée, a senior developer who, amongst many things, coded parts of Blender and worked with Dalaï Felinto on a sound & light show using drones.
Prerequisite
Basic experience with Blender is recommended but anybody willing to try out is welcome.
The training will be held in French and/or English depending on the attendees, start at 10:00 and end around 17:00 at the Botkamp
We now have (temporarily) 8 seats available (mostly without PC. Bring your own laptop). First come, first served.

NB : For the first time in two year, I won’t be participating in a Bbug workshop because I’ll be doing 4 presentations about Blender in the Made In Asia fair for the Bbug. @vincentg will be managing this event, ask him everything. He’ll be temporarily your new ‘Benevolent dictator for life’ 😉

Hi David,
I’d like to join this one as well and if possible could I reserve a place from my friend Tim (TVS) from last time? We both will bring our laptops.
Thanks,
Jean-François

Hi David,
O__o’ …
Live & Learn
Hey guys,
do you mind if I tag along? My knowledge of BGE and python is limited to the fabulous introduction that David once gave us on a former BBUG training.
What sparcles my current interest is to use the BGE for presentations with animations, but still controlled by mouseclick. Currently I think that the downside of using e.g. powerpoint is that all animations are some sort of movie. I can of course loop movies and then click to advance, but then there will always be a jump as one movie ends somewhere random and the next one begins. Do you think that the BGE will be able to do something similar but having all transitions smoothly?
For example: I once created a rotating glas orb. And after I clicked a second (gold) shell would fly onto it. In powerpoint, the orb always jumped since I never clicked on the correct moment during the rotation. I believe that the BGE should be able to do something similar without the jump? Any thoughts on this? Anyone any experience? Or any willing to spend a part of the workshop on this?
Regards Nick
Sure Nick, tag along. We missed you.
Btw thank you for managing the Digitale Week, it gonna be awesome.

Yes thank you Benoit.
I’ve heard nothing but praise from this workshop. (I’m still pissed off I couldn’t come)
